The Ed Schmidt Auto Group originated as Front Pontiac Sales in a small one-car showroom on Front Street in Perrysburg Ohio in 1938.  After several relocations and expansions including the acquisition of the GMC Truck franchise, ground was broken in 1977 for the new dealership on Dixie Highway.  During the economic growth spurt of the 1990's, our organization responded quickly to meet our customers' needs with several acquisitions.  In 1990, we acquired the Volvo, Saab, and Volkswagen franchises and offered sales and service of these models all at one location.  During 1991 Ed Schmidt merged with Schmidt Leasing, which offers leasing and daily rentals to a variety of customers including internal operations.

  In 2000, the beautiful new Volkswagen building was constructed and includes a large service shop and an extensive parts department in addition to the sales and finance departments.
